In 2009 Alchemist CDC and SMHA collaborated with the FEED Coalition (Food Education Equity and Diversity), to assist with the
Del Paso Heights Community Farmers’ Market,
which operates from June through October
and is located at the Robertson Community Center,
3525 Norwood Ave., Sacramento, CA.
Every Saturday, 7:30 am to 12 noon
For more information about the Del Paso Heights Community Farmers’ Market, visit their Web site at: http://www.soilborn.org/dph_market.html
2010 will offer some exciting possibilities as this market completes an organizational transition to be self-managed by the growers that sell at the market.

“For Tangelena White, buying fresh fruit and vegetables was pricey and not always easy in her North Sacramento neighborhood. [Alchemist CDC and SMHA] began buying produce from farmers and reselling it in her neighborhood, like a mobile farmers market. For the first time, White, 22, and her family ate a lot healthier, she said. “I ate so many plums,” said White, who eagerly experimented with new vegetables, broadening her palate.”
