McClatchy Park
In 2009 Alchemist CDC teamed up with the
Sierra-Curtis Neighborhood Association,
Oak Park Neighborhood Association, SMHA
and Freedom Farms
to start a new Urban Farm Stand at McClatchy Park
(At the corner of 34th Street and 5th Ave.)
in the Oak Park neighborhood.
The Urban Farm Stand will operate every Saturday,
May through October
from 10am – 2pm at McClatchy Park.
This new community project offered fresh fruits and vegetables, just
a short walk or bike ride from home.
Check back on this Web site to learn what 2010 has
to offer. We are continuing to work with Oak Park
and Curtis Park residents in their efforts to realize an expanded
Urban Farm Stand or a full farmers’ market.
